Fee refunds at Chanakya College of Teachers’ Training follow the University Grants Commission’s Fee Refund Policy. The UGC circular the college works to is reproduced in full at the foot of this page; its main provisions are set out below so they can be read without opening the document.
How much is refunded
The proportion of fees refunded depends on when the college receives written notice that a student is withdrawing, measured against the formally notified last date of admission.

| 90% | Notice received less than 15 days before the formally notified last date of admission. |
| 80% | Notice received 15 days or less after the formally notified last date of admission. |
| 50% | Notice received 30 days or less, but more than 15 days after the formally notified last date of admission. |
| 0% | Notice received more than 30 days after the formally notified last date of admission. |
Caution money and security deposit are not part of the fees chargeable and are refunded in full.
The rules around it
Processing charge
Where a full refund applies, the college may deduct no more than 5% of the fees paid, up to a maximum of ₹5,000, as processing charges.
Refund timeline
Fees are refunded within fifteen days of the college receiving a written application from the student.
Original certificates
The college may not insist on original certificates at admission and may not retain them. Self-attested copies are sufficient; originals are verified in the student’s presence and returned immediately.
If a refund is refused
The UGC treats non-compliance as grounds for punitive action, and its Redressal of Grievances of Students Regulations apply. The circular below sets out the mechanism.
Applying for a refund
A refund is triggered by a written application to the college. Submit it to the college office, in person or by post or e-mail, stating the course, the date of admission and the date you are withdrawing.
